Tammy underwent gastric band surgery in 2022, which involves placing a silicone band called the Lap-Band around the stomach. This procedure reduces stomach capacity and slows the passage of food, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
As she continues transforming her life, Tammy revealed during a TikTok Q&A that she eventually wants to learn how to drive, though she acknowledges it will take time.
“I do want to learn eventually,” she said. “But right now, anxiety is a bit too overwhelming with everything going on. It’s a matter of baby steps.”
While Tammy has experienced a significant positive change in her life, she faced a heartbreaking setback last summer with the passing of her husband, Caleb Willingham.
The pair met at a rehabilitation facility in Ohio, where they both received treatment for obesity.
They married in November 2022, but their romance was short-lived, and they separated just a few months later.
