Body language expert breaks down Jake Paul’s moment of ‘relief’ as he bows to Mike Tyson

Jake Paul emerged victorious against the boxing legend in Texas.

A body language expert has analyzed Jake Paul’s reaction after facing Mike Tyson in an intense eight-round bout.

Jake Paul stepped into the ring with boxing legend Mike Tyson on November 15, in what was one of the most highly anticipated fights of the year. Held at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the bout saw both fighters fail to secure a knockout, with the 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer emerging victorious by points.

The fight, streamed on Netflix, was scored 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73 in Paul’s favor. As the final bell approached, Paul showed respect by bowing toward Tyson. The two fighters then shared a moment, briefly putting their heads together in a semi-embrace.

Body language expert Inbaal Honigman shared her analysis of the moment with UNILAD, explaining: “Mike Tyson and Jake Paul acknowledge each other as they sense the fight is nearing its end, with Jake in particular clearly in awe of Mike. He wants to show just how much he respects and admires him.”

Honigman continued, “When Jake Paul bows to Mike Tyson, it’s not just a sign of gratitude but also a shared moment of relief, as if to say, ‘It’s over, we did it.'”

Honigman further explained Jake Paul’s handshake with the 58-year-old Tyson, saying: “Jake Paul has immense admiration for Mike Tyson, and when he shakes his hand, it’s to ensure that Tyson understands how much he respects him.”

She continued, “The handshake is a way for Jake to acknowledge Mike’s incredible achievement at the age of 58, showing him that he should be proud of himself. It’s also a way of saying, ‘We got the job done—look at the venue, look at this being on Netflix, this is absolutely huge.’”

The body language expert also commented on the moment when Tyson called out Logan Paul as a potential next opponent. In response, Logan boldly stated he would “kill” Tyson in the ring.

“In that moment, when Logan Paul says ‘I will kill you Mike,’ his eyes light up,” Honigman explained. “He knows that there could be genuine interest in the matchup, and his excitement shows that he’s eager to embrace the challenge.”

“Logan looks excited and happy to be in the limelight, speaking about the potential fight, as he now finds himself part of the conversation,” Honigman added.

Despite losing the fight, many viewers have praised Tyson, particularly noting the 31-year age gap between him and Paul.

One viewer commented, “You all can say you wasted your time, I didn’t. That’s Iron Mike Tyson.”

Another added, “You got to see him box. He’s 58 years old. He made you believe he could do it. He didn’t go down. Dude is an actual living legend.”

A final viewer remarked, “Mike Tyson still had it in him, and he’s 58! Bro went 8 rounds.”
