KFC fans mind blown after discovering all-you-can-eat buffets once existed

KFC fans are begging: Can we bring back the all-you-can-eat buffets, please?

Ever dreamed of a KFC all-you-can-eat buffet? Same here. Turns out, once upon a time, it was actually a thing!

KFC has always had a devoted fan base, and letโ€™s be honestโ€”who wouldnโ€™t go crazy for a fried chicken buffet?

Those lucky enough to visit the chain in the late ’90s and early 2000s might remember this epic offering, while others are just now discovering itโ€”and their minds are blown.

In fact, some Australians are campaigning for its return, and honestly, who can blame them? Itโ€™s fried chicken heaven!

A nostalgic post in a Facebook group sparked excitement when a user shared a photo of an old all-you-can-eat KFC buffet in Western Australia. The caption read: โ€œKFC. Bring back the all-you-can-eat buffet. South Lake WA – closed the buffet in early 2000s.โ€

Fans couldnโ€™t help but reminisce and dream of the golden days of unlimited fried chicken!

The Facebook post quickly ignited a frenzy in the comments section, with fans clamoring for the return of the KFC all-you-can-eat buffet.

One user exclaimed, โ€œI want one now!โ€ while another simply demanded, โ€œBring it back.โ€

For others, the revelation that these buffets ever existed was a complete surpriseโ€”and not a pleasant one. โ€œI feel ripped off,โ€ one commenter admitted.

Interestingly, it wasnโ€™t just Australia that enjoyed this indulgent experience. KFC buffets have even graced Japan, making the dream of unlimited fried chicken an international phenomenon!

In Tokyo, KFC took the buffet experience to the next level with a royal spread of 50 different items! The lineup reportedly included pasta, fries, curry, soup, salad, biscuits, desserts, and, of course, their iconic Original Recipe fried chicken.

Guests could also enjoy exclusive items like Special Fried Chicken Soup Curry and rotisserie-style KFC chicken, adding a unique twist to the feast.

And whatโ€™s a buffet without drinks? Diners could pair their 80 minutes of all-you-can-eat indulgence with all-you-can-drink packages, offering both soft drinks and alcohol. Truly, fried chicken heaven!

Even parts of the US have been lucky enough to enjoy the KFC buffet experience. According to Insider, one was spotted in Southern California as recently as 2018, surprising many who didnโ€™t even know โ€œsuch KFC build-outs existed.โ€

At this location, diners could feast on as much KFC goodness as they wanted for just $8.99โ€”a true bargain for unlimited fried chicken bliss!

For now, though, we can only dream of this fast-food fantasy making a comeback, imagining plates piled high with fries, gravy, and endless pieces of Original Recipe chicken.

In a nostalgic Reddit thread, KFC fans fondly reminisced about the glory days of the all-you-can-eat buffets.

One user shared, โ€œThey just kept bringing plate after plate of hot chicken out. Good times!โ€ Another recalled an international experience, saying, โ€œBeen to one of the buffets they have in Japan and it was glorious!โ€

For some, the memories were as indulgent as the buffets themselves. One commenter relived their iconic moment: โ€œAhhh, KFC All-You-Can-Eat at Bondi Junction. $8.95โ€”where I chose to eat ONLY the skin off 6 pieces (because I could), downed it with unlimited gravy, and then proudly threw up! One of the proudest moments of my 20s!โ€

Now thatโ€™s dedication to fried chicken nostalgia!
