Anthony Hopkins has unfortunately lost his home in the catastrophic California wildfires that have recently struck Los Angeles.
At 87, the iconic actor now joins a list of Hollywood figures who have been impacted by the ongoing destruction.
With more than 30,000 residents facing evacuation orders, many celebrities have found themselves among those affected by the devastating fires.
Hopkins, who bought a beautiful four-bedroom, five-bathroom home in Pacific Palisades for $6 million in 2021, has seen his property consumed by the flames.
Images show the devastating aftermath, with the once-stunning colonial home reduced to ruins, leaving only a burned fence as a haunting reminder of what was once a cherished residence.
The home marked a new chapter for the Oscar-winning actor, following the sale of his long-time Malibu oceanfront property for $10.5 million—more than twice the amount he paid for it in 2001.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time Hopkins has faced the devastation of wildfires. In November 2018, his home narrowly escaped the Woolsey fire, which destroyed his neighbor’s property.
Even further back, in 2000, Hopkins lost his London residence to a fire, though he was safely in Los Angeles at the time.
As the fires continue to devastate the region, Hopkins, along with many others, is left to cope with the heartbreaking loss of his home in one of Los Angeles’ hardest-hit areas.
Actors Adam Brody and Leighton Meester are also among those affected. Their $7 million mansion, purchased in 2019, is one of the 1,000 structures destroyed in the wildfires. Photos now show the property engulfed in flames.
The Nobody Wants This star, 45, and Gossip Girl actress, 38, were last seen together at the Golden Globe Awards just days before the fires erupted. They had been living in their 6,000-square-foot home with their two young daughters.
Similarly, actress Anna Faris’ $5 million eco-friendly home was completely destroyed by the flames. Aerial footage shows the devastating aftermath, with the Scary Movie star left with only a pile of rubble.
Former talk show host Ricki Lake also shared a heartfelt message, mourning the ‘immeasurable’ loss of her ‘dream home.’
Lake, 56, purchased the property in 2014, and it became a special place for her and her husband, Ross Sussman, who married there in their backyard just three years ago.
On Instagram, Lake expressed her disbelief: “I can’t believe I am typing these words… Ross and I lost our dream home.”
She continued, “This description ‘dream home’ doesn’t suffice. It was our heaven on earth. The place where we planned to grow old together. We never took our heavenly spot on the bluff overlooking our beloved Malibu for granted, not even for one second. This loss is immeasurable.”
Oscar-nominated actor James Woods also shared footage showing a home two blocks from his property completely engulfed in flames.
