If you’ve already completed a binge-watch of Fool Me Once and are nearing the end of Harlan Coben’s repertoire on Netflix, a form of rescue is within reach, albeit somewhat.

For the first couple of weeks of 2024 the big buzz has been focused onย Netflixย thrillerย Fool Me Once, leaving audiences eager for more where that came from.

Several of Coben’s works have already been transformed into Netflix shows, and there’s one available on Prime Video as well. However, his extensive bibliography still leaves ample space for additional adaptations.

In a conversation with the Radio Times, Coben disclosed that Netflix is actively developing two more adaptations of his works. He even mentioned a specific book that is slated to become the basis for another show.

“We still have a few left! Weโ€™re currently in the process of adapting my book Just One Look in Poland, with filming underway and collaboration with Netflix Poland in progress,” Coben remarked about the next addition to his expanding list of Netflix projects.

He added, “We’re also in the midst of working on a project in South America, believe it or not. There’s no doubt that if Netflix expresses interest in having us back, and hopefully with the support of everyone watching, we can make it happen.”

The author mentioned his intention to collaborate on ‘at least another one or two’ adaptations with Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, and Danny Brocklehurst.

Coben expressed, “We want to keep this going; we love this sort of annual rhythm if possible,” highlighting the desire to maintain a consistent stream of content on the platform.

“We skipped last year, but we’d love to attempt having that New Year’s Day release for everyone. They can watch us while recovering from a hangover, and we can all kick off the new year together,” Coben mentioned, outlining the aspiration for a synchronized release schedule.

“Just One Look,” the 2004 book that Coben disclosed is currently in development with Netflix Poland, centers around the character of Grace Lawson.

Her life takes an unexpected turn when she stumbles upon an old photograph of her husband alongside a group of strangers.

Upon discovering what she has learned, her husband abruptly disappears, leaving Grace to realize that her family is being targeted by a hitman.

If the Netflix adaptation follows the pattern of Fool Me Once, it’s likely to involve a mystery entwined with characters residing in exceptionally luxurious residences.

The book has previously been adapted, with the French broadcaster TF1 releasing a miniseries based on it back in 2017.

Regarding the possibility of further developments with Fool Me Once, Coben mentioned to the Radio Times that he might be open to exploring more with DS Sami Kierce if Adeel Akhtar (known for his role as Brother Faisal in ‘Can I have 12 bottles of bleach please’ in Four Lions) is interested.

The author expressed his enthusiasm, stating that he would “love to spin off and do something with Adeel again.”
