Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s Dunkin’ commercial wins the Super Bowl

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck entertained audiences with their uproarious commercial for Dunkin’ during Super Bowl LVIII.

On Sunday night (February 11), NFL enthusiasts experienced an eventful day as the Kansas City Chiefs secured a 25-22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. This win marked the Chiefs as the first repeat champions in the league in 19 years.

The Super Bowl represents the pinnacle of advertising for many companies, who are willing to invest millions of dollars for the chance to showcase their products directly to consumers on this grand stage.

According to CBS News, for the second year in a row, the average cost of a 30-second ad spot during the Super Bowl was $7 million.

This year, celebrity endorsements were abundant, including Beyoncรฉ’s Verizon advertisement, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s Wicked trailer, and Ryan Reynolds promoting the Deadpool sequel.

The 51-year-old actor from Gone Girl also made an appearance in a game day ad for Dunkin’, but this time he was joined by his wife Jennifer Lopez, his best friend Matt Damon, Jack Harlow, and Tom Brady.

The commercial begins with Affleck accompanied by the 25-year-old rapper Harlow in the car, with the ‘Lovin On Me’ artist urging the actor not to proceed with what he’s about to do.

The Good Will Hunting actor highlights that “just last year, she visited me at my workplace,” alluding to the 2023 Dunkin’ Super Bowl advertisement where he was depicted working at the coffee establishment, engaging with Lopez who playfully teased him. He further elaborates that this time around, he’s determined to “demonstrate my abilities” to her.

The Batman actor energetically interrupts his 54-year-old wife’s recording session, exclaiming, “Hey there! Presenting for your consideration, here comes the Boston Massacre. The DunKings!” as he introduces his bandmates with fervor.

“Touchdown Tommy on the keys!” Affleck exclaims, exchanging a fist bump with Brady, while the camera shifts to Damon, who, with a hint of embarrassment, jests, “Itโ€™s seriously challenging to be your friend, dude.”

The father-of-three proceeds to serenade with ‘Donโ€™t Dunk Away at My Heart,’ belting out the lyrics: “Donโ€™t dunk away with my heart / Why you Dunkinโ€™ me, girl?” as he and his backup dancers execute synchronized choreography with flair.

Ultimately, the songstress known for ‘Jenny From The Block’ appears visibly embarrassed from her seat, as Fat Joe makes an unexpected appearance, wearing an incredulous expression. “What do you think of that… doughnut?” Damon mutters, his demeanor entirely deflated. “I apologize sincerely.”

Affleck then attempts to clarify, saying, “You had to witness it, but I understand!” He then blows a kiss to JLo and requests her to “lay [them] on the track!” Nevertheless, Lopez declines her husband’s request, prompting him to make a baseball analogy as he exits, remarking, “Thatโ€™s tough. You’re swayed by those pinstripes! There goes Babe Ruth!”

The couple’s advertisement has garnered extensive praise from viewers on X (formerly Twitter), with numerous individuals expressing their joy over the star-studded campaign.

“One person wrote, ‘The hold this @dunkindonuts commercial has on me right now. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon auditioning for Jennifer Lopez to be on her album?! Perfection. No notes,'” while another chimed in, saying, “Ben Affleckโ€™s Dunkinโ€™ commercial was PERFECT.”

Another person gushed, saying, “Definite #1 thus far is Ben Affleck/Dunkin for best commercial,” with a fourth individual adding, “Super Bowl adverts are a thing and this year @dunkindonuts wins by a touchdown with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Tom Brady acting MVPโ€™s.”

We eagerly anticipate the couple reuniting for their next Super Bowl ad!
