Cameron Diaz says she doesn’t care what she looks like anymore

Cameron Diaz has shared her thoughts on the effects of facing scrutiny about her appearance in the entertainment industry, yet the actress is opting to release any concerns and move forward.

In a recent episode of Michelle Visage’s Rule Breakers podcast, the 51-year-old expressed that she has shifted her focus away from her appearance and is now prioritizing other, more significant aspects of her life.

“I couldn’t care less,” she remarked when questioned about the matter. “Honestly, the thought of my appearance is probably the least thing on my mind throughout the day, if at all.”

She pointed out that the industry had a highly toxic atmosphere when it came to judgments based on one’s appearance.

“You just begin to dissect yourself,” she shared with the host.

Presently, her focus has shifted towards more meaningful pursuits to the extent that she humorously mentioned having scarce time in the mornings, barely enough to wash her face or attend to her skincare routine.

“Maybe twice a month if I’m fortunate, I’ll think, ‘Oh, I should probably apply this. Once should suffice, right?'” she quipped. “Is that all it takes? Right now, I’m just not in a space where I invest any energy into worrying about it.”

Nevertheless, despite her personal stance, she remains open-minded and understanding towards those who are still entangled in such concerns.

“Again, I just circle back to the trap of it all, particularly in our society, and what we prioritize, what we consider important,” the actress added. “Look, if it’s important to you, that’s perfectly fine.”

Diaz had a long and active career in the entertainment industry for decades before stepping away a few years ago. While she briefly returned to the big screen in a collaboration with Jamie Foxx for the upcoming action-comedy “Back in Action,” no additional details about the Netflix movie have been disclosed at this time.

Speculation about Diaz’s retirement from the film industry arose following statements made by Selma Blair, her co-star from “The Sweetest Thing.” According to a report by Metro UK, the 51-year-old actress was said to have opted for retirement as claimed by Blair.

The actress known for “Cruel Intentions,” Selma Blair, recounted a conversation about retirement with Diaz, stating, “I had lunch with Cameron the other day. We were reminiscing about [The Sweetest Thing]. I would have liked to do a sequel, but Cameron’s retired from acting. Sheโ€™s like ‘Iโ€™m done.'”

Later, in another interview, Diaz confirmed the rumors, affirming, “Iโ€™m semi-retired, too, and I am actually retired, so I would love to see you ladies,” while discussing the possibility of a reunion with Blair and their friend Christina Applegate.

Reportedly, in the past few years, Diaz has redirected her focus to her family life, citing the demanding nature of her job as a significant factor in this shift.

A source close to Diaz revealed earlier this year, “These back-to-back 10-hour workdays have been a lot on her, and she hates being away from Raddix. Cameron loves being a mom more than anything in the world.”

While Cameron Diaz’s husband, Benji Madden, is highly supportive of her acting career, her time on set has reportedly “been a lot on him,” according to sources.

The couple shares a daughter named Raddix Madden, born in December 2019.

Diaz and Madden took to Instagram to announce the birth of their daughter with an emotional post on the actress’s account, stating: “We are so happy, blessed, and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.”
