Elisabeth Moss has shared the joyous news of her impending motherhood, revealing that she is expecting her first child!
During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, January 29, the 41-year-old Emmy Award-winning actress proudly displayed her burgeoning baby bump.
Upon taking her seat, the 56-year-old host wasted no time addressing the matter, straightforwardly asking Moss, “Are you pregnant, or are you just an incredibly committed method actor?”
Responding with laughter, the star of “The Handmaid’s Tale” shared, “A little bit of both.”
During the conversation, the “Mad Men” actress opened up about her pregnancy journey when Kimmel inquired about how she’s been feeling. She replied, “Not bad, actually. I’ve been really lucky. It’s been going really well.”
Continuing the conversation, the star then sought advice from the chat show host on navigating the journey of parenthood. In response, Kimmel shared that the best advice his wife, Molly McNearney, received before welcoming one of their children came from comedy legend Bill Murray, aged 73.
Kimmel shared Murray’s unconventional yet practical advice, stating, “He said bring Christmas lights to hang up in the delivery room because the lighting is terrible. It’s Walmart-style lighting for this blessed event that’s going to happen, and you don’t want that.”
Additionally, he recommended night lights, emphasizing the importance of avoiding candles, as he had experienced. Candles cannot be lit in the delivery room due to the presence of oxygen canisters, which are highly flammable.
Moss warmly welcomed the suggestion, expressing her agreement by saying, “I think that’s a really good list, I like that.”

Maintaining her privacy regarding personal matters, Moss has chosen not to disclose details such as the identity of the father of her baby and her due date.
She has been involved in only two publicly known relationships, one of which was her marriage to Saturday Night Live comedian Fred Armisen at the age of 57 in October 2009.
The former couple parted ways eight months later, and the Invisible Man actress formally filed for divorce in September 2010, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce proceedings were ultimately concluded, and their marriage officially ended in May 2011.
In 2012, Moss entered into a romantic relationship with Australian cinematographer Adam Arkapaw, whom she met on the set of the New Zealand mini-series “Top of the Lake.” They were together for three years before ultimately parting ways in 2015.

The actress from “The Shining Girls” disclosed to Marie Claire in 2018 that she initially had reservations about motherhood but gradually became more open-minded to the idea as she grew older.
“It’s not for everybody, and I didn’t know if it was going to be for me, but lately, I think it is,” she conveyed to the publication. “I have no idea how I want to do it though or what the plan is.”
After four years, Moss expressed to the Daily Mail that she desires to have children, citing inspiration from her mother, Linda. She expressed, “I definitely want to have kids because I’ve been very inspired by the kind of mother my mom is. She did a beautiful thing with me.”
She playfully added, “And then Iโll give the child to my mum and she can raise it because she’d do it very well!”
