A heartbreaking video captures Liam Payne enjoying Niall Horan’s concert with his girlfriend just days before his untimely death at the age of 31.

On the night of October 16, police in Buenos Aires, Argentina, announced that Payne had been pronounced dead after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel in the city.

An initial statement from local police in Buenos Aires revealed that they were called to the Casa Sur Palermo Hotel after reports of an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”

According to PA, Alberto Crescenti, head of the state emergency medical system, stated that Argentinaโ€™s Todo Noticias TV channel reported that Payne had fallen into the hotel courtyard.

Crescenti has since confirmed that Payne fell approximately 40 meters and sustained “severe injuries that were incompatible with life.”

He added, “The alarm was raised at 5:04 PM local time, reporting that a person was lying in an internal courtyard at Casa Sur. An ambulance arrived at 5:11 PM, and the man was pronounced dead.”

“Afterwards, we learned he had been a famous singer. Unfortunately, the injuries he sustained from the fall were fatal, and there was no possibility of resuscitating him.”

Itโ€™s understood that the star was in the city to attend a concert of his former bandmate Niall Horan, with a heartbreaking video showing Payne and his girlfriend enjoying one of Horan’s gigs just days prior.

In the clip, Payne is seen with his arm around his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, giving her a kiss on the forehead as she rests her head on his shoulder.

The couple shared several updates during the concert on Snapchat and Instagram, including one video where Payne captioned, “So happy I got to see Niall in concert.”

Payne later shared a photograph of himself and Horan smiling together backstage at the Movistar Arena, captioning the image “Reunited” with a heart emoji.

Tributes to the former One Direction star have since poured in across social media, with former X Factor duo Jedward posting, “RIP Liam Payne. Condolences to friends and family.”
