Identical-looking strangers with same name and job get DNA test to see if they are long-lost siblings

In a captivating narrative reminiscent of a cinematic plot, two professional baseball athletes named Brady Feigl not only bear identical names but also exhibit strikingly similar features, including an imposing height of 6ft4, fiery red hair, and glasses.

The extraordinary series of coincidences has compelled these athletes to undergo a DNA test, seeking to unravel whether they might indeed share a familial connection.

As reported by the New York Post, Brady Feigl, a 32-year-old player for the Long Island Ducks, expressed astonishment upon learning about his nearly identical namesake, a 27-year-old counterpart named Brady Feigl, actively playing for the Las Vegas Aviators.

What began as an unusual turn of events in 2015 has evolved into a comprehensive inquiry encompassing elbow surgeries, cases of mistaken identity, and confusion on social media.

The Feigls’ doppelgรคnger saga initiated with both of them undergoing identical elbow surgeries carried out by the same physician, Dr. James Andrews.

“I was probably six or seven months post-surgery, and their office contacted our trainer, asking, ‘Hey, when is Brady scheduled for surgery? Is he coming down here tomorrow?'” recounted the younger Feigl to The Clarion Ledger.

The perplexity didn’t conclude at that point. As per the younger Feigl, this occurrence was the moment when the older Feigl became aware of his uncanny doppelgรคnger. “He was like, ‘He underwent the surgery six months ago. What are you talking about?’ That’s how I discovered there were two of us,” revealed the younger Feigl.

Fast-forwarding two years later, the University of Missouri’s baseball team garnered attention by mistakenly tagging the wrong Brady Feigl, now playing for the Las Vegas Aviators, in a birthday shoutout on social media.

The tweet read: “Big birthday shoutout to JR Pitcher @bmfeigl! Have an awesome day! #BirthdayReb.” The mix-up prompted the former San Diego Padres player to clarify, stating, “Wrong Brady Feigl. Might be looking for @bfeigl39โ€ฆ”

Following DNA testing, it was confirmed that the athletes were not biologically related, defying many expectations. Despite this revelation, the older Feigl expressed, “We’re still brothers in a way,” pointing to the perplexing chain of coincidences that brought them together, as reported by The Sun.

This captivating tale mirrors a similar phenomenon from the previous year when a TikTok video depicting a man encountering his doppelgรคnger at the grocery store amassed over 1.1 million views and 172.8k likes.

In the video, a baby appeared perplexed as it glanced back and forth between its father and his nearly identical counterpart named Caleb.

As we contemplate the mysteries of genetics and fate, one thing is certain: the saga of the two Brady Feigls will endure as a captivating chapter in the realms of sports, mistaken identity, and perhaps, cosmic coincidences.
