Angus left the show in 2013 but returned to reprise his role two years later for a guest appearance in the finale. He received several Young Artist Awards for his portrayal of Jake, and his future in acting appeared bright.
In addition to becoming a recognizable name in television, Angus amassed a considerable fortune that undoubtedly set him up for life.

Despite achieving fame and fortune at a young age, Angus ultimately stepped away from acting to focus on his studies at the University of Colorado.
He has also criticized Two and a Half Men in the past, expressing that he felt like a “hypocrite” for being part of a show that made light of real-life issues.
Reflecting on his decision to leave the show in 2014, Angus told US news station KHOU, “It was making light of issues in our world that are serious problems for many people.”
“I was a paid hypocrite because I wasn’t comfortable with it, yet I continued to do it.”
After leaving the show, Angus joined the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a socially conservative Christian denomination.
In religious videos shared online, he criticized his role in Two and a Half Men, calling the series “filth.”
Angus faced backlash for his remarks, prompting him to release a statement to US Weekly to clarify his comments.
He expressed that he had “the highest regard and respect for all the wonderful people on Two and a Half Men” and clarified that it was never his intention to convey “indifference” or “disrespect” to his former colleagues.
“I apologize if my remarks came across as indifference or disrespect to my colleagues and for not fully appreciating the extraordinary opportunity I have been given,” he added.
