Influencer Dies After Falling From One Of The World’s Highest Bridges

Lewis Stevenson, a 26-year-old British influencer, tragically died after falling while attempting a dangerous stunt at Spain’s tallest bridge.

The inquest into Lewis Stevenson’s death revealed that he sustained fatal head injuries after an “uncontrolled descent” from the 192-meter-tall Castilla-La Mancha bridge, located near Talavera de la Reina. Stevenson had been attempting to climb the bridge without safety equipment, hoping to capture a daring Instagram post for his followers.

The incident took place on October 13, during Stevenson’s short visit to Spain, when he lost his grip while attempting a stunt.

His body was found at 7:14 a.m. the following Sunday morning, after the fall.

Despite his family’s repeated warnings to steer clear of such perilous activities, Stevenson was resolute in proceeding with his risky climb.

According to his grandfather, Clifford Stevenson (speaking to Mail Online): “We all tried to talk him out of it. We were always trying to convince him not to do things like that, but that was just who he was.”

Stevenson, an avid enthusiast of ‘rooftopping’—a form of urban climbing on tall buildings and structures—had shared similar adventures globally on his Instagram under the username ‘expedition.’

His posts featured adrenaline-pumping photos of him perched atop buildings in cities such as New York and London.

Local authorities had repeatedly issued warnings that accessing the Castilla-La Mancha bridge was strictly prohibited.

Macarena Muñoz, a local councillor for citizen security, confirmed that Stevenson disregarded these warnings and went ahead with the stunt, accompanied by another 24-year-old Englishman.

She described the fall as a tragic accident, stressing that: “Climbing the bridge is completely prohibited, and we have emphasized on numerous occasions that it cannot be done under any circumstances.”

Stevenson’s decision to climb the bridge was reportedly driven by his desire to create engaging content for his social media followers.

At a hearing in Derby Coroner’s Court, Assistant Coroner Sabyta Kaushal confirmed that the cause of death was ‘blunt force head injuries’ sustained from the fall.

Kaushal opened the inquest into Stevenson’s death on December 3 and adjourned the proceedings for further investigation, with a final hearing set to take place once the inquiries are concluded.

Stevenson’s girlfriend, Savannah Parker, described the events surrounding his death as a “nightmare.”

She recalled their final conversation, where his last words to her were, “Good night, I love you,” the night before the fall.

Parker had been in touch with Stevenson the morning of the accident, but she didn’t realize the gravity of the situation until later that day.

She had joined him on similar adventures in the past, recalling an experience in Malta where they explored an abandoned building together.

“I was so scared of making one wrong move,” she admitted, but she went along with it out of love for him.

Along with his family, friends and fellow ‘rooftopping’ enthusiasts also expressed their grief over Stevenson’s passing.

One friend, who shared Stevenson’s passion for climbing urban structures without safety harnesses, posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.

Known by the username Louie_W1, the friend described Stevenson as “the bravest, most caring, and funny person” he had ever known, expressing deep sorrow over the loss.

Another friend, Vil1iany, shared how Stevenson had profoundly impacted his life, saying that Stevenson had introduced him to “a new understanding of freedom” and inspired his creative work.

“Your fearless mentality will stick with me for the rest of my life,” he wrote in his tribute.
