Justin Bieber has expressed his views on the surprising high-profile indictment of rapper, record producer, and executive Diddy.
The arrest of Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, has sent shockwaves through Hollywood.
The rapper was arrested last month following an investigation that lasted nearly a year.
In light of the allegations against him, Combs has been charged with crimes related to s*x trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, as well as drug possession and firearm offenses.
According to Sky News, it has been alleged that the 54-year-old leveraged his employees, resources, and influence to establish a “criminal enterprise” in which members and associates engaged in and attempted to commit various crimes, including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
The music producer has been accused of hosting “freak-offs,” characterized as “drug-fueled, days-long sexual performances” that Combs allegedly coerced women into participating in and filmed for his own enjoyment, according to the BBC.
In November 2023, Combs’ former partner, Casandra Ventura, professionally known as Cassie, filed a shocking lawsuit alleging that he had subjected her to sexual and physical abuse.
The lawsuit alleged that the rapper physically assaulted his ex-girlfriend and coerced her into engaging in s*xual acts with other men. Additionally, it includes accusations of rape against the star.
According to her civil lawsuit, Cassie met Combs in 2005 when she was 19 and he was 37. The couple had an on-and-off relationship that lasted for over a decade before ending in 2018.
The “I’ll Be Missing You” singer resolved Cassie’s lawsuit within a day. Since then, several others have filed lawsuits against Combs, alleging a variety of abusive behaviors.
In March of this year, federal agents conducted raids on Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles. He was subsequently arrested at a hotel in Manhattan after being indicted by a grand jury.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment in a statement to the Daily Mail, stating that they believe the decision to pursue what they consider an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office is misguided.
“Diddy is an imperfect person but is not a criminal,” he continued. The rapper was denied bail and has been incarcerated since September 16.
In a 1999 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Combs remarked about the parties he hosted: “They’re probably going to be arresting me, doing all types of crazy things just because we want to have a good time.”
Since his arrest, people have been revisiting Combs’ friendships with various celebrities, and his relationship with Justin Bieber has come back into focus.
Fans are expressing concern about what he might have gone through at such a young age.
One fan commented, “Justin, whenever you’re ready to share your story, we’re here for you.”
Another fan remarked, “Why did no one question why a man wanted to hang out with a child?”
A third fan responded, “Justin was so young and innocent; I hope Diddy didn’t hurt him.”
When Bieber was just 13, he signed with Raymond Braun Music Group, a collaboration between former marketing executive Scooter Braun and singer Usher, according to Forbes.
It was during his initial encounter with fame that Bieber was introduced to Combs.
Videos of the two together have since resurfaced, prompting raised eyebrows among viewers.
In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel in 2009, when Bieber was 15 years old, Combs announces that Bieber is spending “48 hours with Diddy.” He adds, “Where we’re hanging out and what we’re doing, we can’t really disclose, but it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream.”
“I have been given custody of him,” Diddy says. “You know, he’s signed to Usher, and I had legal guardianship of Usher when he did his first album. I produced Usher’s first album.”
“For the next 48 hours, he’s with me. And we’re going to go full buck wild. Let’s go get some girls.”
Over the years, Bieber has been seen less often with Combs.
Now, Us Weekly reports that a source close to Bieber revealed the singer is in a “difficult place mentally right now.”
The source also noted, “He has such a history with Diddy, and the allegations against him have been difficult to process.”
The singer of “Beauty And The Beat” recently welcomed his first child with his model wife, Hailey Bieber. They have chosen the name Jack Blue for their baby.
The source stated, “His joy in being a dad has surpassed his worries about Diddy.”
Page Six reached out to an industry insider who reportedly collaborated with Bieber’s team for several years.
They remarked, “He was a teenager and the biggest pop star in the world. Everyone was concerned for him, and we weren’t sure if he would make it through. People exploited everything he did.”
“The family members are worried about Justin. It’s uncertain if Diddy would have exploited him back then, especially with his family close by and his manager, Scooter Braun, genuinely looking out for him,” the insider revealed.
