Lily Allen shares sad reason she was forced to get rid of family dog that ‘ruined her life’

Lily Allen has shared the heartbreaking reason she had to part ways with her beloved family dog.

The 39-year-old ‘Smile’ singer, who initially adopted the dog for her New York townhouse, revealed she had no choice but to return the little pooch to its previous home.

In her BBC-commissioned Miss Me? podcast with Miquita Oliver, Allen disclosed that the pet joined her children, Ethel Mary Cooper, 12, and Marnie Rose Cooper, 11.

She shares her children with her ex-husband Sam Cooper. The couple married in 2011 and divorced in 2018.

Allen explained, “We did adopt a dog, but then it chewed up my passport, so I ended up returning her.”

“She chewed up all three of our passports, which had our visas in them.”

“And I can’t even describe how much it cost to replace everything. It was during Covid, so it was an absolute logistical nightmare.”

“And since the father of my children lives in England, I couldn’t take them back to visit him for about four or five months because this damn dog had eaten the passports.”
