The former adult film actor shared that her past career continues to have a negative impact on her daily life.
Mia Khalifa has recently spoken about how her past career in adult content continues to impact her daily life.
Although she left the industry years ago after appearing in fewer than a dozen films, her name remains one of the most recognizable in adult entertainment.
Since stepping away, Khalifa has become a vocal critic of the industry she entered at 21, frequently advising young women against following a similar path.
Now 31 and married, Mia Khalifa earns an income through OnlyFans and various other business ventures. However, she continues to express regret over her decision to enter the adult industry nearly a decade ago.
Despite being one of the most-searched adult actors on PornHub for years, Mia Khalifa didnโt make a fortune from her videos, reportedly earning only $12,000 (ยฃ9,650) in total from her adult films.
Her past, however, continues to affect her. In a 2020 interview with Anthony Padilla for his YouTube series “I Spent a Day With,” Khalifa opened up about how her former career still impacts how people treat her. When asked, โHow has being in the adult industry, even for such a brief period of time, affected your day-to-day life?โ Khalifa shared candid insights into the lasting influence of her experience.
To her surprise, she responded, “People will just grab me.”
Taken aback, Padilla asked for clarification, to which Khalifa explained that this behavior didnโt happen in typical nightlife settings but even in places like grocery storesโplaces where it would be unexpected and unacceptable.
“Theyโll just come up to me and grab me,” she explained further.
Padilla commented, “They think they have a right to your body because they’ve seen it,” and Khalifa nodded in agreement.
“Theyโll follow me to my car or grab my arm. When I politely refuse, they resort to calling me names like ***** or s**t,” she continued.
“Itโs happened in completely unexpected places, even while waiting to get my passport stamped at Copenhagen Airport.”
Khalifa continued, explaining, “I was standing there with my husband when a guy approached us. After I politely declined, explaining Iโd just gotten off a 15-hour flight, he yelled at me, calling me a b*h and a st in front of a line of about 45 people.”
She went on to say that, after the incident, she and her husband were left standing there uncomfortably, trying to avoid making eye contact with anyone.
Host Padilla pointed out, “He wanted a photo, and then resorted to insults because you said no.”
Khalifa agreed, adding that some people “just canโt handle the word.” Padilla noted, “Theyโll show respect until they feel rejected, and a simple ‘no’ is enough to make them feel disrespected.”
