People can’t explain bizarre detail they can see in image of six women sitting on sofa

Count the women and then count their legs

Nothing is more frustrating than trying to decipher an optical illusionโ€”and this one is truly mind-boggling.

Some people love testing their brains with seemingly unsolvable challenges, while others (like me) find it exasperating.

So, when a strange optical illusion popped up on Reddit, reactions were understandably mixed.

But not all optical illusions are so difficult. For example, one puzzle looked like a floor covered in pebbles, yet a closer look revealed a hidden engagement ring among them!

Then there are the ones where you have to spot a hidden sniper. It feels nearly impossibleโ€”until you finally see him, and then heโ€™s all you can focus on.

Or those engaging puzzles with hidden clues that need deciphering to reveal a message. People love these kinds of challenges.

    But this picture?

    Itโ€™s a total mind-bender.

Count the people and then count the legs… (Reddit)

The image shows what seems like six women sitting together on a sofa, just a casual group photoโ€”until you take a closer look.

    Can you spot whatโ€™s off?

Thatโ€™s right (Iโ€™m assuming you checked closely)! There are six women, but somehow only five pairs of legs.

At first glance, it looks like the third woman has no legs, just a torso, but Reddit users are divided on what theyโ€™re actually seeing here. And itโ€™s their theories that add to the mystery.

One person suggested, โ€œThe first girl is sitting over the second girlโ€™s legs.โ€

Another agreed, adding, โ€œThe second girlโ€™s legs are behind the first girlโ€™s legs.โ€

A third user offered a detailed theory: โ€œNumber one has her legs crossed, with no rip in the knee. Number two has only one leg visible, and that leg has a rip in the knee.โ€

One user pointed out, โ€œThose legs are blending together. Follow that tear downโ€”youโ€™ll notice a split where thereโ€™s a sock on the right and not on the left. Number two has a tear in her knee and a visible white sock.โ€

Another Redditor zoomed in on the girl second from the left, saying, โ€œHer pants are the same color and almost blend in. You can spot the difference where a bit of sock or skin is showing above her boot.โ€

Many users chimed in, saying the number of legs just doesnโ€™t add up, which is exactly what makes the internet so much fun.
