Back in 2018, Pete Davidson had a whirlwind romance with a major celebrity, but it ultimately ended in heartbreak for him.
Interestingly, that very same singer once posted a tweet that might explain Davidson’s surprising appeal to women who many might consider out of his league.
The buzz began when a fan asked Ariana Grande on X (formerly Twitter) about the length of her then-fiancé Pete Davidson’s, well… attributes. The question read: “How long is Pete ???”
Realizing the confusion, they followed up with a clarification: “OH AS IN THE INTERLUDE NOT AS IN… ANYWAY.”
Grande, however, playfully responded, “Like 10 inches? … oh f**k … I mean a little over a minute,” referring to the track “Pete Davidson” from her 2018 Sweetener album.
Though she later deleted the tweet, it had already gone viral, fueling speculation and sparking endless memes.
Pete Davidson has addressed the curiosity surrounding his appeal to women. In 2022, during the 9th Annual Patrice O’Neal Comedy Benefit Concert, he shared his perspective:
“There seems to be a curiosity about me, is what my friends tell me,” Davidson said. “I was trying to figure out how to explain myself to someone because I was doing an interview.”
The comedian humorously compared his charm to an unexpected gem in a discount DVD bin—the kind that contains movies like Predator 2, Shrek Forever After, and Tropic Thunder. It’s the element of surprise, he joked, that makes him stand out.
Davidson described Tropic Thunder as a “classic” that “doesn’t belong in the trash,” adding, “I’m Tropic Thunder. I’m the diamond in the trash. It’s a steal.”
Known for his candidness, Davidson has often shared insights about his love life. On the River Café Table 4 podcast with host Ruth Rogers, he revealed one of his biggest dating turn-offs, describing it as a major “red flag.”
He also discussed his preferred first date approach, saying he likes to keep it simple with a dinner or a movie. He joked, “Even if I’m a s**t date, at least the food was great.”
Davidson shared that one of his biggest dating deal-breakers is rudeness toward waiting staff. He admitted he’d “hate” it if his date acted disrespectfully, saying it would prompt him to “immediately” end the outing.
“In my head, I would be like, ‘Okay, never… this is it,’” he explained.
Davidson also mentioned he isn’t a fan of people being overly demanding or impatient, adding, “I don’t like the ‘excuse me.’ It’s like, just wait for the guy to walk by and then just lightly do it.”
