Reese Witherspoon’s daughter, Ava Phillippe, has publicly shared her thoughts about her s**uality on Instagram.
Witherspoon is a mother of three, sharing her daughter Ava and son Deacon with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe.
The Legally Blonde star also has a son, Tennessee James Toth, with her ex-husband, Jim Toth.
Ava has recently opened up about her sexuality through powerful social media posts, and fans online are loving her openness!
“Yaaaas! Welcome to the club, lovely!” one fan commented.
Another fan wrote, “Congratulations to you! Good for you. Beautiful just like your mom.”
A third fan chimed in, “Whatever you want to be is none of my business! I will support you no matter what.”
This isn’t the first time Ava’s personal life has made headlines.
Witherspoon previously opened up to InStyle magazine about the unique upbringing of her children, who grew up surrounded by fame—unlike her own childhood.
The Big Little Lies actress explained, “It’s an odd situation because I didn’t grow up famous. So [Ava] is experiencing something I didn’t, and so are my sons.”
She added, “We’re fortunate to have friends who grew up in Hollywood and can offer advice on how to navigate it.”
Witherspoon emphasized her full support for her children as they explore their identities, saying, “Ava is so down-to-earth. She wants to do great things in the world.”
The Cruel Intentions actress explained that Ava is “trying to find herself” and determine her “path” in life.
Earlier this year, Witherspoon’s daughter Ava came out on Instagram!
Ava, 25, is often mistaken for the Just Like Heaven actress and already has a successful career of her own – she’s partnered up with renowned brands like Beyoncé’s Ivy Park and Pat McGrath Labs.
Recently, she interacted with her one million Instagram followers using the platform’s Q&A feature and ended up discussing her s3xuality.
One user asked Ava about her preferences in romantic interests, and she gave a straightforward response.
“I’m attracted to… people!” she wrote, overlaying the text on a picture of herself wearing glamorous blue eye shadow.
She then clarified in parentheses, “Gender is whatever.”
Although Ava doesn’t explicitly mention her s3xuality in the post, those attracted to individuals regardless of gender might identify as pans3xual.
According to GLAAD, pans3xuality means being “attracted to all gender identities, or attracted to people regardless of gender.”
Ava is believed to be in a relationship with Owen Mahoney, a fellow UC Berkeley student, and they are reported to have started dating around 2019.
Since they are mostly offline, it’s unclear if they are still together, though he has noticeably been absent from her Instagram lately.
Since her initial announcement, Ava has further elaborated on her s3xuality.
She has previously warned (via People), “I can and will block profiles that post bigoted or hateful comments on my posts.”
“I’m committed to keeping my Instagram profile a space free from cruelty and hate speech. Let’s spread peace and love here.”
This summer, in honor of Pride Month, she proudly shared an image celebrating her LGBTQ+ identity.
Ava’s post read: “Once upon a time, someone on the internet said ‘gender is whatever’ in relation to their own s3xuality.”
“Although many misunderstood her words, she was clear about her intentions. Regardless, this is her post for the first day of Pride Month 2024.”
She also wished a ‘Happy Pride Month’ to ‘my LGBTQ+ community’ and addressed the critics in the comments in a follow-up Instagram story
The post has received praise from followers, with Charmed actress Alyssa Milano commenting, “This picture made me smile so big. Happy Pride!”
TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney added, “So much love for you!”
It seems Ava has the full support of her famous mom, who liked the adorable post.
