The passing of the actor was confirmed by his wife, Helen Snell, in a statement. She explained that the father-of-six succumbed yesterday (4 January) after a valiant battle for life, surrounded by the loving company of family.

People are flocking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to reminisce about the actor, with many expressing how they grew up watching “Starsky & Hutch.
A user shared, “I remember this image on so many posters when I was a kid. A talented actor and singer, and one of the coolest people alive in the 1970s. Rest in peace, David Soul.”
Another user added, “I’ll be revisiting Tobe Hooper’s SALEM’S LOT tonight. David Soul made a tremendous leading man in that adaptation. RIP.”
