A TikTok user recently showcased the culmination of her challenging journey to achieve a set of “new teeth.”
Few of us relish a visit to the dentist, whether it’s the apprehension of needing a filling or simply the unpleasant odor that permeates the place.
Nevertheless, there are times when a visit to the dentist is essential. In the grand scheme of things, undergoing the necessary dental work will ultimately prove to be beneficial.
Chey Chalai has chronicled her topsy-turvy dental adventure on TikTok.
The TikTok influencer, with nearly 640,000 followers on the platform, revealed her dental issues in 2023.
In a text overlay accompanying her dentist routine, Chalai wrote: “At 20 years old, I had to opt for dentures due to the unaffordability of the necessary dental procedures.”
“At the time, I was too young and trusted my dentist’s judgment, so I allowed him to extract all of my teeth,” Chalai recounted.

Continuing her narrative, she stated: “Now, at 31 years old, after 11 years, my dentist informed me that I’ve experienced significant bone loss, to the extent that my jaw bone resembles that of an 80-year-old.”
“In just the past 3 months, I’ve experienced such rapid bone loss that my dentures barely fit anymore. As a result, it’s painful for me to eat, talk, or even wear my teeth,” she lamented.
The TikTok content creator further expressed that her jaw “aches constantly.”
According to Chalai, her dental issues originated when she got braces.
“I’m eagerly anticipating regaining comfort with my smile and being able to eat, talk, laugh, and live comfortably,” she added with determination.
The dental implants came with a staggering price tag of $33,000. In response, Chalai launched a fundraiser, expressing that if only 1,600 people donated $20 each, she would be able to afford the procedure.
Thanks to the funds raised, Chalai was finally able to realize her long-desired dream of obtaining “new teeth.”
In a video uploaded back in February, the content creator documented herself undergoing the final phase of her dental surgery.
In the video’s caption, she wrote, “Getting my final set of teeth, by the way. I intended to share this back in December when my finals were put in, but it’s been sitting in my drafts.”
“Feeling incredibly blessed!” she exclaimed.
Many TikTok users have flooded the comments section of the video, with some even moved to tears by the remarkable transformation.
Meanwhile, one individual on X, formerly known as Twitter, shared: “I’m so happy for her, but now I’m in tears.”
